Supply Chain & Logistics Bookkeeping
Supply chain bookkeeping from a supply chain veteran
For trucking, warehousing, distribution, and other supply chain businesses
13 Years Inside the Supply Chain
Mark’s supply chain expertise spans both the classroom and tangible experience – an MBA in Supply Chain Management followed by 13 years inside the industry through three companies and two acquisitions, working the account of a Fortune 500 chemical manufacturer and later expanding to include one of the world’s most famous clothing brands.
While earning his MBA at Rutgers Business School, Mark completed a logistics internship at International Specialty Products (now Ashland Inc.), a chemical manufacturer. There, he audited freight billing and discovered a pattern of LTL misclassification: commodity-specific rates billed for freight that should have qualified for a lower FAK (Freight of All Kinds) rate. Correcting the errors recovered more than $40,000 in overpayments – an early sign of the financial results he’d bring to logistics throughout his career.
After graduating in 2012, Mark spent the next 13 years working the BASF chemical account across three companies – from LMS Logistics to Transplace to Uber Freight via acquisitions – giving him a rare continuity of relationship and institutional knowledge with a single major chemical shipper across different corporate environments and delivering results at every stage.

Across every role, the throughline is the same: finding the gaps between what’s being promised, what’s being billed, and what’s actually happening operationally – and closing them. That’s the same skill set Mark now brings to bookkeeping for supply chain and logistics businesses.
What does supply chain and logistics bookkeeping involve?
Bookkeeping for trucking, warehousing, distribution, freight brokerage, 3PL, and other supply chain businesses commonly includes:
- Tracking fleet, fuel, maintenance and equipment costs
- Worker classifications and payroll management
- Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Regulatory compliance costs
- Integrating operational systems with accounting records
- Correct timing of revenue recognition
- Identifying unusual costs, billing discrepancies and cash-flow issues
- Managing contract rates vs spot bid revenue
Bookkeeping for Trucking
Mark spent years reviewing shipment data for major accounts – the vast majority FTL, LTL, and bulk tanks – giving him firsthand insight into how trucking companies actually operate. He provides bookkeeping built around the realities of driver classification, fleet costs, and revenue timing that generalist bookkeepers often miss.
